Get Balenciaga’s Super Destroyed Denim Look for $5,600 USD
Balenciaga may have stripped back the entertainment value from its Winter 2023 show earlier this month, but that hasn’t stopped the Demna-helmed House from dropping some of the more daring pieces from its Summer 2023 “The Mud Show” collection. Notably, Balenciaga follows up on the release of its $8,350 USD rhinestoned Technoclog and the teaser of its 3XL Mule, now opening the pre-order form for its duo of Super Destroyed Denim pieces.
Per the brand, the jeans and jacket are from “The Mud Show”‘s Look one — insinuating that Ye’s opening number has since been scrapped, likely because of the demise of their relationship. Regardless, the look comprises black Japanese denim essentials that have been treated to a heavily destroyed and dirty effect, albeit slightly less wrecked than what came in the show.
The jacket is dirtier than the trousers, sporting a rear that’s been slashed within an inch of its inanimate life. The pockets have also been cut, while two more can be found intact alongside seven Balenciaga-engraved flex buttons.
As for the jeans, they are cleaner but still completely destroyed. Holes on the front and deep rips on the back are just the start, as even Balenciaga’s inlaid branding on the rear is given the messy treatment.
Per Balenciaga’s price increase as of late, these items are not cheap. The pants retail for $2,450 USD, while the jacket comes in at $3,150 USD. Take a closer look at the distressed outfit above.
