Marit Larsen on meeting her husband for the first time
Norwegian artist Marit Larsen (39) is a well-known name to many. Her career began when she and Marion Ravn, 38, formed girl duo M2M – a duo that took the world by storm. Larsen has been working with music ever since.
Despite the success, the artist keeps a low profile.
– Thought I lost her
“Best secret ever kept,” Larsen wrote when she posted a picture of herself in the wedding dress in October 2016. Then, the day before, she had married Alexander Buchmann, with whom she had been a lover for two years.
However, the relationship only became public shortly before the wedding.

The artist has always kept a low profile about the relationship, but guesting on NRK’s Lindmo on Friday, she opened up about how she met her future husband.
They met at a party in Oslo, but from the very first meeting there were a few sticks in the works. Buchmann worked as a field worker for Médecins Sans Frontières and was soon to return to field work. Larsen himself was on tour and describes the whole thing as a short meeting.
That’s how they got their love back
– And I honestly had, and that’s not just because I love storytelling, but I decided to put it on the shelf for a moment, just to take a break from searching. And then he found me, she says frankly in “Lindmo”.
When she received a message from Buchmann asking if she’d like a coffee when he comes home in a few months, she says she accepted the invitation while thinking, “I’ll get over it “.

– A bit cynical, but only – I had a tired heart. I had to take a step back, says the artist.
Luckily, one message turned into multiple messages, which turned into what Larsen calls a bit of a sly research phase.
– We have a close bond
– Because when we first met, it felt like I had known him my whole life. Then it was done.
Se og Hør has contacted Marit Larsen’s manager, Silje Larsen Borgan, who says she has no further comments on the matter.

In 2019, Larsen was able to share the happy news that the couple would be parents, and the following summer, she introduced her daughter to her Instagram followers.
“Her name is Astrid Ira and she has been busy maintaining social distancing and writing the soundtrack to your summer (summer 2038, ‘thank you very much’),” she wrote in the post, which featured an image of a child’s hand over a piano.
