Find an agent

There are several things to consider when choosing the right letting agent to value your home and attract the best possible tenants for you. Choosing a letting agent to either manage your property or find your tenants is an important first step, and we recommend starting this research early as there are several different options out there in the market in Scotland.

Before instructing your property for let, you should make sure to find the agent you believe can do the best job for you.

How much involvement do you want in your property?

Once you have your valuation and you’re ready to let your property, it’s important the choose the right package for your rental. At DJ Alexander, we offer two service levels: ‘let only’, where we find your tenants for you but you manage and collect the rent, and ‘fully managed’, where you can relax, letting us take care of your entire property from sourcing tenants, collecting rent and maintaining your property. Find trustworthy tenants

As a landlord, a big concern is finding tenants you can trust to pay the rent and keep the property in good order. When your agent has found a tenant for the property, and you have accepted, they will collect references, arrange a tenancy agreement, collect your deposit, check IDs, and conduct Right to Rent checks. They may also carry out an inventory, organise a Gas Safety Inspection and PAT testing, and even arrange professional cleaning.
