Adidas Korea names new general manager

German sports brand Adidas said Thursday it has named Paul Pi as its new general manager for its Korean unit.

Pi, who is from Seattle, has built his career in Adidas’ Asia-Pacific and Chinese markets for 20 years, especially in the brand management, communication and marketing divisions.

He served as general manager of Adidas Taiwan from 2011 to 2016 and led Adidas Taiwan and Hong Kong recently, earning a reputation of growing the brand’s business in Greater China.

Pi will begin his term on Oct. 1, replacing Eddie Nixon.

In 2018, Adidas Group, which has multiple brands including Adidas and Reebok, raked in 21.9 billion euros ($24 billion) in global sales. Adidas Korea’s revenue last year is assumed to surpass 1 trillion won. ($834.4 million).
