“Change is coming that hasn’t happened in 100 years. And we are driving this change together,” Xi told Putin during his recent State visit to the Kremlin: In Sudan, and across Africa, Latin America, and other regions of the world, Russia and China continue to pursue an “independent and sovereign foreign policy” to create a less just and undemocratic multipolar world order through their malign influence, the propping up of corrupt dictators in fragile states in exchange for gold and other natural resources, and geo-economic blueprints that promote and finance violent conflicts; bribery dominance in critical minerals supply chains and trafficking in environmentally-sensitive goods; illegal trade, cybercrime, and theft of IPR and trade secrets; and usurious money laundering practices in their overseas economic development assistance initiatives to secure and control critical infrastructure, military bases, and maritime ports.

While the international community continues to negotiate the peace and bring greater accountability consistent with the principles of the UN Charter globally, it too is important to focus on our collective security defense, the rule of law, and enforcement of anti-corruption and anti-crime laws that end the war crimes in Ukraine, and destructive subversion, impunity, and criminality associated with their sovereign foreign policies that are unjust in building their vision for a multipolar world in other parts of the globe.

Otherwise, Russia and China will continue their geopolitical and foreign policy adventures to advance a undemocratic agenda to obtain military, political and economic advantages, adverse to democracy, good governance and solvency of poorer countries, more clean, transparency and integrity in markets, and the preservation of international peace and security.

As Russia and China deepen their “no-limits friendship” and comprehensive strategic “Partnership of Coordination for the New Era”, their military aggression in Ukraine, South China Sea and Taiwan Straits, and economically in expanding and sustaining black markets and the global illegal economy, unmitigated, the future portends more chaos, insecurity, and instability for decades to come.
