All the Chanel Couture Brides Throughout History

The finale of the Chanel Haute Couture show has a special place in our hearts, as it always wraps with a gorgeous wedding dress. Dating back to the 80s, the late Karl Lagerfeld employed “it girl” models like Claudia Schiffer, Devon Aoki, Alek Wek, Kendall Jenner, and Cara Delevingne to close the show as a “bride”—with each wearing some of the most enchanting designs.

In looks spanning all bridal styles, the Chanel brides have walked the runway in everything from over-the-top ballgowns, mini dresses, pantsuits, and even a swimsuit! Furthermore, these famous looks have been accompanied by some of today’s most popular bridal accessories such as hats, capes, sneakers, and flower crowns (to name a few!).

For the most recent Spring/Summer 2022 season, Chanel’s creative director, Virginie Viard, tapped into the simplicity of contemporary bridal fashion, gracing the runway with a dress every modern bride will want to wear—a white slip dress with a delicate crystal-embellished overlay.
