Allure Chanel perfume – a fragrance for women 1996

A miracle of perfumery

This fragrance is a full fledged fruity floral not a sissy or girly teen pre teen fruity floral. It struck me that the same notes found in Paris Hilton perfumes like Paris Hilton’s debut frag, Passport Miami, Heiress and Siren are here: honeysuckle, passion fruit, citrus and peony flower, but rather than being the timid and flirty body sprays that the Paris perfumes can turn into, this releases a more Oriental and deeper complex aroma.

The fruit scents are delicious, concentrated and spicy like Femme by Rochas. There’s a peach juice with passion fruit that has a tropical air to it. There’s also fresh zesty lemon and orange notes. They smell like summer cocktails at the beach, but in a more sophisticated way; again like when you wear Femme if you’re familiar with that fragrance.

Once the fruitiness settles down, the florals make their appearance. This is a powdery floral with delicate femininity associated with body powder and beauty salon scents. Smells just like when you’ve come out of the hair salon and had your hair done, your hair smelling so good. In this way it’s also like Dahlia Divin. This is for you if you like those type of perfumes, you know, powdery and make-up or cosmetic type of smell.

The rose and the peony are lovely and very well matched. The peony flower to me has a rose scent so this always goes back to that rose. It’s pink and soft. There’s also orange blossom, jasmine, and magnolia, not to mention a lotus or water lily. But the water lily doesn’t really stand out and they used only the smallest amount of it along with the faintest trace of orange blossom so that instead the powdery rose, peony and a white magnolia scent are the key players as far as the florals go. They are super feminine florals. Magnolia? Are you kidding me? Smells like something Scarlett O’Hara would wear. This is a beautiful and very womanly floral fragrance.

The imagery I get when I smell this perfume is a beautiful woman, nude, and wearing flowers, literally covered artistically and tastefully in petals of orange blossom, roses, jasmine and magnolia. The petals cover up her nipples and vag so that she is posing in a very artsy fashion. She is alluring and seductive with a come-hither stare. No man can resist her.

There was a time when floral fragrances were what men liked to smell on women. Emphasis on men. Nowadays younger boys want the girl to smell like cotton candy, sugar cookies or other edible treats. But frankly that got boring and typical after the age of 14. I like to smell of fragrances like this one. It’s also got some Oriental notes of musk patchouli and wood but they are not pronounced and it turns into either an amber or vanilla. I like amber and vanilla scents especially because they make a floral scent deeper and more luxurious.

This is an easy to wear fragrance and a fine intro to Oriental florals. If you wear Chanel Mademoiselle or Coco Noir, this perfume, which predates both perfumes, should be your cup of tea. This is as good as both scents and as wearable, not obscene or offensive not a heavy floral, light but detectable and so beautiful.
