Arsenal and adidas’ New Travel Kit Pays Tribute to Its French Roots
Arsenal have just unveiled a new collection that pays homage to the club’s French heritage.
From Arsene Wenger to the wave of French recruits that have flourished at the club from the ’90s to the present day, the club has always been full of French flair. Arsenal experienced a period of ravishing success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, resulting in the “Invincibles season,” where the team went through an unbeatable phase that became cemented in their legacy.
Now, Arsenal and adidas are reuniting to pay tribute to the former’s triumph by crafting a game-ready range that the squad will wear in their next league matches. The kit will also be present in tonight’s FA Cup game against Manchester City and consists of a track top, T-shirt, hoodie, pants, and stadium parka mutually fashioned with a navy base and adidas’ Three Stripes motif in France’s flag hues.
The uniform also features adidas’ Trefoil logo on the right chest, while Arsenal’s historic symbol lands on the left with gilded accents.
Speaking on the team-up, former Arsenal player and current team ambassador Jeremy Aliadiere says:
“During that period in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was great to be part of the team at Arsenal. We had a lot of players from France or French-speaking countries, and we were made to feel at home straight away by the other members of the squad.
That togetherness we had back then is something I see in this current team, and so it’s great to celebrate the period I played in, at a time when it was really enjoyable to be a Gooner. I think the range will be loved by supporters across the world, and it’s a nice gesture to those, particularly in France – many of whom fell in love with the club during that period 20 years or so ago.”
