These past few weeks, the members of BLACKPINK have been busy making history at Coachella 2023 and taking their Born Pink World Tour to Mexico. Before crossing the pond and taking the show to Singapore, Jennie decided to make a pit stop in New York City to attend the Met Gala 2023.

Jennie made her Met Gala debut wearing a ’90s vintage look from Chanel, of course. The team actually recreated the look for her, Jennie shared with Emma Chamberlain before hitting the red carpet. (Jennie has been an ambassador of the French maison since 2017 and has since become a staple on its runway shows, frequently flying from Seoul to Paris to sit front-row.)

Jennie’s outfit is quintessianly Chanel look comprised of black opera gloves, a body-hugging white dress with fanned-out paneling, black tights, and black pumps. A black choker, diamond earrings, and a black belt with the house’s iconic white camellia flower completed the look. Jennie also wore a camellia on her hair, adorning her braided diadem.

Though Jennie is a bona fide fashionista in her own merit — she’s a long-time ambassador of not only Chanel but also Calvin Klein and is great friends with the likes of Jacquemus — this marks the first time the BLACKPINK singer attends the Met Gala. Just two years ago, at the Met Gala 2021, fellow BLACKPINK member Rosé made history alongside rapper CL by becoming the first female K-pop idols to attend the prestigious event.
