Balance Me Vitamin C Repair Serum review

Is Ascorbyl Glucoside a good form of Vitamin C for the skin?

Ascorbyl glucoside is a stable form of vitamin C combined with glucose. It works as an antioxidant and helps your skin look smoother and brighter.

It is a less potent version of Vitamin C than L-ascorbic acid, but this means that it’s suitable for all skin types. Pure vitamin C can cause mild irritation, whilst Ascorbyl Glucoside, despite being an active ingredient, will most likely not irritate your skin.

How to use the Vitamin C Repair Serum?

You can use it in the morning or evening on cleansed face. I personally apply the serum in the morning once I’ve cleansed my face and used the BHA Exfoliate Concentrate. I apply my moisturiser after the serum.

Make sure to always apply SPF after the Vitamin C serum if you use it in the morning! You can for instance follow up with this Balance Me Moisturiser with SPF 25.

Balance Me Vitamin C Repair Serum review

First impressions

I wasn’t sure about the texture at first, because when I put some products on my palm it looked like a fairly heavy cream. But when I went on to apply it on my face, it turned into this gel-like texture that felt refreshing and not heavy at all.

I find the Vitamin C Repair Serum very quick to absorb and I can immediately follow up with my SPF moisturiser.

Another thing I enjoy it the smell, which comes from the flower and fruit oils added to the main active ingredients.

Results

I do not suffer from pigmentation however my skin can get pretty dull and I feel like this serum, alongside my other skincare products, really helps brighten up my skin and adds an extra layer of moisture.

I can see that just after I’ve applied the product, my skin looks more “even” and more plumped. It is probably the Hyaluronic Acid working its magic.

If you have dry and dull skin this is definitely a serum worth trying!
