Forty-five days into the 45th President of the United States’s term, Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia was still not over Bernie Sanders’s run for office.

After serving up a variety of T-shirts, jackets, and sleeping bag-like scarves printed with a modified version of Sanders’s undulating campaign logo at his menswear show in January — “Balenciaga 2017” swapped in for “Bernie 2016” — Gvasalia brought the theme back at the Balenciaga women’s show on Sunday.

This time, Gvasalia applied the red and blue logo to some red and blue pumps, the fabric of which was awkwardly bunched and stretched in such a way that Ellie asked whether they had “just wrapped Book Sox around heels?”

Possibly!

Anyway, these shoes are perfect for the Bernie Sanders fan who’s willing to shell out $600-$800 on a pair of heels, or for the irony lover who enjoyed the fake DHL T-shirts that helped put Gvasalia’s other brand, Vetements, on the map.

If you don’t want to spend that much, you could also make your own on a budget using a pair of Payless pumps ($24.99), fabric paint ($16.49), and “Standard Blue” Book Sox ($1.50).

Regarding the first round of Balenciaga clothing inspired by his campaign, Sanders told CNN’s Jake Tapper in February, “I think, of my many attributes, being a fashion maven is not one of them.”

Respectfully, the Senator should reconsider.
