Brit Rhythm for Him Intense Burberry cologne – a fragrance for men 2015

Before I get to BBRI, I feel it is only fair to give you some background information on my relationship with the Burberry Brit line. The original Burberry Brit was the first signature scent I ever had. I was well known for the scent throughout high school. I purchased Burberry Brit Rhythm the day it released, and was somewhat disappointed but still kept a bottle in my wardrobe as a sort of tribute to the original. When I found out an intense version was releasing, I was thrilled as I felt that the first flanker was too laid back to represent the line. I blind bought the bottle immediately after its release and fell in love with the fragrance at first spray. BBRI is NOT the most complex, well blended, organic, or exotic cologne on the market. It isn’t challenging or “groundbreaking.”

BUT IT SURE AS HELL IS A BONAFIDE COMPLIMENT ALL STAR.

It is a fall/winter dumb reach that I will always have in my collection and am proud to call my signature scent. I have been asked to spray this on more hoodys/pillows [;)] than any other cologne I own. This is a cologne that you get an extra hug while wearing so that she/he can get one more whiff of your fragrance. As fragheads, we sometimes get so caught up on whats new/challenging/expensive/high quality that we disregard some absolute gems and this is one of them. The fact that this can be purchased for anywhere from $20-$30 dollars is absolutely unbelievable when you consider the colognes that are sitting on department store counters for upwards of $100.

THIS SHOULD MAKE EVERY YOUTUBE REVIEWERS FALL/WINTER CHEAPIE LIST.

BBRI opens briskly with black pepper, mint, and sage that all quickly take a backseat to the main player in this fragrance: LEATHER. There is nothing animalic or dirty about this leather, just refined and clean. The leather continues throughout the rest of the fragrance and is backed with tonka and creamy woods. The fragrance is never harsh, but it does get smoother and smoother as the fragrance progresses. The sweetness also increases throughout its life. It definitely doesnt reach the gourmand stages of the original BB but the tonka and cashmere certainly add a masculine sweetness in its later stages. I get about 4-5 hours of good projection and about 10 hours of longevity, which can be extended indefinitely if sprayed on fabric.

I do not get many of the comparisons in the other reviews on here. It can be categorized with La Nuit, Spicebomb, and Man in Black, but it definitely doesn’t smell LIKE them. It is much less spicy than SB and MIB, and it is much deeper than LNDH.

Opening 6/10 (too short lived to be rated highly)
Mid 9/10
Drydown 9/10
Longevity 9/10
Uniqueness 8/10 (clearly designer and mass appealing, but doesn’t smell exactly like anything else on the counter)

Overall 9/10 (very easy to wear and generally well liked by the public)
