Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander charged after trying to ‘crash’ singer’s wedding to Sam Asghari
Britney Spears’ ex-husband has been charged with four offences after being arrested at the singer’s Los Angeles home shortly before she married her partner Sam Asghari.
Jason Alexander, 40, was charged with two counts of misdemeanour battery, one count of misdemeanour vandalism and one count of misdemeanour trespassing following the incident, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.

It came as Asghari’s representative Brandon Cohen confirmed his marriage to Spears, saying: “I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way.”
A source quoted by US entertainment publication People said the ceremony was to be attended by about 60 guests in Spears’ and Asghari’s “close circle”.
Guests who reportedly attended included Donatella Versace, Paris Hilton and the singer’s brother Bryan, though sister Jamie-Lynn and her parents were not due to be present.

Police officers responded to an incident of trespassing at the address and later arrested Alexander – the singer’s first husband, a childhood friend she famously married in Las Vegas in 2004 before an annulment was obtained just 55 hours later.
Shortly before the incident, Alexander posted an Instagram live story from near to the property, in which he said he was there to “crash” Spears and Asghari’s wedding.
Sergeant Cyrus Zadeh said an altercation had occurred with security officers, during which items had been broken.
“He was able to find his way onto the property and was confronted by security,” he said.

Sergeant Zadeh said the incident with Alexander occurred before the wedding took place and those involved were seeking to prosecute.
Alexander was originally arrested for an out-of-county warrant but now faces the additional four charges.

Spears, 40, and fitness trainer Asghari, 28, met on the set of her Slumber Party music video in 2016 and became engaged in September 2021, with the singer joking the proposal was “way overdue”.
A 13-year conservatorship which had controlled her life was terminated by Los Angeles Superior Court in November 2021.
Thursday’s wedding was to be the singer’s third trip to the altar, following her divorce from second husband Kevin Federline in 2007.

Earlier this year, Spears announced she was expecting a third child with Asghari but in May confirmed the loss of her “miracle baby early in the pregnancy”.
Posting on Instagram, she said the couple “perhaps” should have waited to announce she was expecting until they were “further along”.
She added: “We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support.”
