Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander wanted by police

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander is wanted by police after he missed a court date.

Alexander, who was married to Britney for just 55 hours in 2004, was due to appear in court in Napa County, California on Tuesday (13 September) – but he never showed up, reports TMZ.

The singer’s former husband is accused of stealing expensive jewellery from an unnamed woman in 2015. He is facing two felony counts of grand theft and buying/receiving stolen property.

Alexander seemingly dodged the case for years, but it reared its head again when he was arrested for crashing Britney’s wedding to Sam Asghari in June.

He was convicted of trespassing and battery in August after he showed up at Britney’s home, spending 60 days in jail before he was released and told to return to court on 13 September. Alexander never showed, which resulted in a new warrant for his arrest being issued.

He was sentenced to time served as he had already spent time in jail while he waited for his court date.

Britney Spears’ wedding was almost derailed

Britney Spears married her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari at a small, star-studded ceremony in June – Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore were among the famous faces in attendance.

Jason Alexander turned up at the couple’s home uninvited and live-streamed his intended intrusion on Instagram. He successfully entered the house and made his way to the singer’s bedroom, where she was getting ready.

The doors were locked, which prevented him from getting in, a court heard.

Prosecutors said he damaged a door and “battered a security guard” who tried to remove him from the property.

Following the incident, a judge issued a protective order forbidding Alexander from being within 100 yards of Britney and her security detail.

Speaking on his Instagram Live, Alexander said: “She’s my first wife, my only wife, I’m her first husband. I’m here to crash the wedding.”

Alexander’s intrusion apparently didn’t dampen Britney’s spirits – she later described her wedding as the “most spectacular day”, adding that the “party was even better” than the ceremony.
