Burberry Bright Rose No. 417 Lip Velvet Review

I seriously can never get tired of Burberry makeup and this particular range called “lip velvet” never ever! Burberry’s lip velvet is one of my top five favorite lipstick formula across all brands. The shade that I would be reviewing today is “Bright Rose.”

A comfortable, non-drying, soft-matte lipstick with a lasting, velvety finish. This creamy lipstick locks in rich pigments, glides on effortlessly, and delivers a soft-matte finish in one stroke. Lips are left comfortable with an ultra soft, refreshingly non-drying texture that’s long lasting.  It is formulated without parabens, phthalates. This product is free of lanolin.

My Experience with Burberry Bright Rose No. 417 Lip Velvet:

Burberry lip velvet comes housed in a matte grey rectangular tube with the trademark Burberry indentation all over the tube and the bullet. The name of the brand is printed on the bottom of the tube.

Burberry lip velvet is my favourite formula from the brand. My obsession with matte lips is never ending. “Bright Rose” is a *surprise* *surprise* another pink-y coral shade with a semi-matte finish.

The color payoff is just insane, but when you apply this on the lips, it’s not fully opaque, so you can customize how you want to wear it, do you want a full coverage or a semi-opaque coverage. It has a slight perfume-y kind of scent, but it’s not overpowering in any sense. It feels very comfortable and lasts pretty well on the lips (6 hours without feathering). This formula doesn’t dry out your lips throughout the wear time. This shade will all skin tones and complexions.

It’s a highly pigmented lipstick. It does not feather or bleed.  The lasting power is also pretty good at 5 to 6 hours. It does fade away after a heavy meal but leaves a stain behind. The bullet shape is regular cut and it’s quite sturdy. It does not tug or pull on the lips during application, it goes on so smoothly.

It’s quite forgiving on dry lips and prior exfoliation is not necessary.

The reasons why I would repurchase this lipstick is that it feels very comfortable, hydrating on the lips.

Even though it’s a bright shade, you can certainly wear it to office.  You can pair it up with neutral eye makeup. There’s no need to apply it with a brush, it goes on velvety smooth on the lips. Since it’s a strong color, you do not need a lip liner beneath either.
