In September 2013 Burberry will launch a new fragrance for men called Brit Rhythm. The theme of this fragrance combines scent and sound, inspired by live music and the youthful party scene. It is announced as a provocative and sexy fragrance full of energy and adrenaline.

“When it’s a licensed business, you have much less control over all aspects,” said Christopher Bailey (Chief Creative Officer at Burberry Group) for wwd. Now that the business is in-house, “we have been able to have a very consistent message from working with the noses, all the way to working with the bottle suppliers, and to all the imagery as well. You can really work through the way you are going to communicate it, the way you are going to talk to consumers, the way that you are going to put this fragrance out into the world, you can really look at all the aspects of it.”

He also said: ““Music has become such an integral part of our world, from the digital site that we have—Burberry acoustic—to the things that we do at all the shows with the music team here that I set up.”

Its green top notes represent the energy that prevails in music festivals; there are accords of fresh basil, lemon verbena, spicy cardamom and juniper berries. The sexy heart includes black leather, deep patchouli and styrax, while the base captures an exciting blend of incense, intense cedarwood and warm and balsamic tonka beans. Perfumers who signed the newest Burberry Brit Rhythm edition are: Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Olivier Polge.

The new Burberry scent is aimed at rock ’n’ roll souls. It is “the biggest ever men’s launch for the brand. We’ve got this bottle that has become iconic within the Burberry fragrances. It’s very square, it’s very graphic, it’s linear,” according to Bailey. The newest bottle will take the Brit bottle to the next level …
