Burberry unveils new logo and pattern

Burberry‘s new creative director Riccardo Tisci has unveiled a new logo and monogram for the storied British fashion house, created by Peter Saville Studio.

The designer, who joined the British heritage label in March 2018, unveiled the new logo on Instagram, writing: “Past | Future. Thank you #petersaville #beginning.” The more minimalist design is inspired by a typeface created by the house in 1908, Burberry said on the social networking site.

The house also revealed a colourful new monogram on its official account. The design features the interlocking initials of the house’s founder, Thomas Burberry, in shades of red and honey. According to images posted by the label on Instagram, the design process was launched in March, just ten days after Tisci arrived at the label, and was completed in just four weeks.

Since Tisci’s appointment, the house has announced a creative link-up with Vivienne Westwood, and offered a preview of the first looks from the chief creative’s debut collection, which is set to be one of the most highly anticipated shows at London Fashion Week in September.
