Chanel Le Lift is one of the 15 unique skin care lines formulated by one of the biggest fragrance and cosmetics companies in the world, Chanel. The brand emphasizes the use of natural ingredients in their Le Lift collection, particularly the use of Botanical Alfalfa Concentrate. There are currently 14 products in the Chanel Le Lift collection, which are purported to create the look of smoother skin and lifted facial features. But as you’ll read in our Chanel Le Lift review, these products may not live up to these bold claims!

Is Chanel Le Lift Skincare Worth The Money?

A common question about this brand is if the products are worth the cost. Chanel Le Lift Skincare products are expensive, for example, the LE LIFT PRO CONCENTRÉ CONTOURS is $205.

In our opinion, Chanel Le Lift Skincare products aren’t worth the money, simply because there are other skincare brands that offer similar products that are less expensive.

One brand is Carrot & Stick, a clean skincare brand that perfectly balances the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science.

Carrot & Stick intro bundles deliver great value for money because you can bundle 3 full-size products worth up to $240 for $88.

What are the best selling Chanel Le Lift products?

Out of the 14 products in this collection, the best selling Chanel Le Lift products include the creme, serum, and eye serum. Below we’ll cover what each of these products is claimed to do, and we’ll follow with evaluating the key ingredients to see if these claims hold true.

Chanel Le Lift Creme is an anti-aging face cream that is said to promote a recontoured, toned, and refined complexion. This cream can be applied to the face and neck both in the morning and at night.

Chanel Le Lift Serum is a concentrated serum that is said to create the look of smooth, redefined skin that’s protected against environmental stressors. Upon application, the formula is also said to deliver a “tensing effect” that can last up to 24 hours for a lifted appearance.

The Chanel Le Lift eye serum, called Chanel Le Lift Concentré, is a lightweight eye serum that is said to target the appearance of wrinkles, the loss of firmness, and dark circles and puffiness. It is claimed to help the eye contour look smoother, firmer and 21% more luminous.

What are the key Chanel Le Lift ingredients?

We’re pretty disappointed in the formulation of all three best selling Chanel Le Lift products mentioned above, primarily because alcohol is used in very high concentrations in all three products (either the second or third highest concentration ingredient). The problem with this type of alcohol is that, at first, it seems like it’s benefitting the skin. Initially, alcohol gives products a quick-drying finish, immediately degreases the skin, and imparts a weightless feel. Plus, Chanel combines alcohol with ingredients like glycerin and silicones to provide temporarily anti-aging benefits. You see, alcohol tightens the skin, glycerin hydrates the skin and thereby plumps skin, and silicones form a thin, invisible film that can help disguise signs of aging. However, these effects are temporary and will disappear once you wash off the product. Pretty tricky, right?

The major problem with using high concentrations of alcohol is that this ingredient is well known to cause skin dryness, irritation, and even disruption of the skin barrier. In fact, alcohol can dry out the skin so much that the skin will produce more oil over time to compensate for the dryness. This can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. We will still discuss the key ingredients in these products below, but keep in mind you’re getting more alcohol than key ingredients in the Chanel Le Lift products!

All Chanel Le Lift products contain Medicago sativa (alfalfa) extract because of its anti-aging benefits. The flavonoids in alfalfa extract possess free radical scavenging activity, which means they protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Free radicals are the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Alfalfa also contains polysaccharides called galactomannans that provide an anti-wrinkle retinoic-like activity without any of the typical side effects associated with retinoid use. Chanel claims that their Botanical Alfalfa Concentrate is as efficient as retinol, but we’d like to point out that this claim is based on a study of only 21 women. Currently, there are no large scale studies comparing alfalfa extract and retinol.

Another interesting ingredient found in most Chanel Le Lift products is Ipomoea batatas (sweet potato) root extract. Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins and minerals, such as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B, and vitamin C. These nutrients provide nourishment to the skin, and some provide antioxidant protection.

Lastly, we’d like to point out that almost all of the Chanel Le Lift products contain synthetic fragrance. We understand that consumers appreciate when products smell pleasant, but we’d like to point out that fragrance is not skin care. Fragrance ingredients (both natural and synthetic) are well known to cause skin irritation and damage. Even if you don’t have a full blown reaction to the fragrance ingredients, the damage may still be occurring every day. Ultimately, this can cause mild problems for your skin in the short term and worse problems over time.

ALTERNATIVE:  Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum. It contains 7 plant-based peptides to help promote smoother looking skin.

Where is Chanel Le Lift sold?

Chanel Le Lift and other Chanel Skin Care products are sold on the brand’s website, as well as numerous third party online sellers such as Sephora, Amazon, and more. You can also buy Chanel Le Lift products from the Chanel counter at department stores such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and more. If you head over to the brand’s website, you can use the store locator to find a location near you that sells Chanel Skin Care products.

What is the Chanel return policy?

The Chanel return policy states, “You can return all or part of your order within 14 calendar days from the date of receipt. Simply complete the return form enclosed with your package (also available on our website if you have created an account) and send us the unused products in their original packaging, along with the return form. CHANEL includes a prepaid mailing label in your package that is to be attached to the outside of your return package before depositing it at a post office. For hygiene and safety reasons, sealed products that have been opened are not eligible for reimbursement.”

Is Chanel cruelty free?

Chanel is not cruelty free. Chanel sells its products in mainland China where animal testing is still required by law.

Chanel Le Lift reviews

Unfortunately, there are very few Chanel Le Lift reviews on the brand’s website, typically less than 5 per product. Perhaps this is due to the high price of Chanel skin care products, making them out of reach for many consumers. Taking a look at Google for Chanel Le Lift reviews, we noticed that most reviews are positive, but there are a handful of negative reviews to consider.

Positive Chanel Le Lift reviews point out that the products are lightweight, absorb into the skin quickly, and help the skin to feel better hydrated. Negative Chanel Le Lift reviews are from those who experienced allergic reactions to these products, and also from customers who experienced skin dryness and tightness after using the Le Lift products.

What are some alternatives to Chanel Le Lift?

If you’re looking for skincare products to address the signs of aging, we recommend Carrot & Stick. Carrot & Stick maximizes the use of powerful ingredients and minimizes the use of superficial ones, resulting in advanced skincare solutions that help promote healthy, more youthful-looking skin. We recommend this serum.
