Chance Eau Vive Chanel perfume – a fragrance for women 2015

For the price ….. It’s a shame it’s an EDT. I could barely smell it!!!!! so maybe it’s a good option for a work wear scent? It is smooth but I find it very musky, like all the other notes sort of hide or blend into the musk…I found myself going back and forth in regards to whether I liked it or not…However, this is probably due to the price point and the brand which is why I think it would make a good gift.
I didn’t really wear this scent just sprayed it. Nothing in the scent stands out after a minute. The only way I could tell it apart from the green one was because the green was more fresh. Like I said it makes a great gift, I don’t see anyone being disappointed with it, it smells smooth, it’s soft so not an offensive smell so even if they have issues with musk you wouldn’t need to worry, the bottles also small and round which is kinda cute. So it’s a great gift, I mean everythings better when it’s free.

Perhaps if the price point wasn’t so high and I had got it on sale or something I would have really liked it and worn it without guilt.

One thing that can be said though, I DEFINITELY liked this more than the chance EDP the first spray of that was utterly old lady esk, although it apparently does settle.

Anyhow I am new to scents so I do know this review is lacking but I’d like to continue the comparing the collection. Out of the collection my favourite was Tendre which is the most generic one however I felt like I could actually smell it. I could smell that it was fruity. Although I do admit, it does smell chemically cheap out of the four. It’s also not every special you could get the same fruity sweet chemically scent from much more cheaper better alternatives! However vive and Fraiche have that Chanel DNA as some people have mentioned in the comments.
Also the green one apparently smells like Zara apple juice which I don’t see at all! Apple juice is a lot more sweeter and has no depth to it. If you have to choose out of this Vive and the green one/fraiche then fraiche is a better option. Apparently it lasts longer too, and in my opinion it has the same musk qualities just fresh rather than sweet which is why Its staying in my current collection.

So basically I wouldn’t really say I wouldn’t want this but it’s not something I’d notice was gone and run to repurchase straight away.

Like I said the collection was a let down as I couldn’t really smell the collection. Perhaps this review is more of a rant….

However after giving sometime for the money aspect to dissipate I think the perfumes ok. It didn’t really slay but it didn’t really cause me to hate it. ( The whole collection that is not just this specific perfume. Except chance EDP I can’t get past that inital spray I feel like I aged myself everytime I tried to use it). If you’re blind buying like me, I don’t think you’ll be obsessed with this perfume nor do I think you’d hate it. If you have the money by all means go for it…. I think Chanel does tend to smell quite old or sophisticated. That’s why the rest of the EDT collection is good for younger girls/women who tend to stay away from strong patchouli and overly deep musky scents and prefer lighter airy scents. Although in this case the scent is too soft for my liking as I can’t smell anything special or nice. Kinda like when you over blend an art piece and suddenly your hard work no longer shows and just looks like a soft blob :O
