Chanel | Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Lipstick: Review and Swatches
Chanel | Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Lipstick
Packaging:
The Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme comes in an all-black lipstick case that’s matte on the outside and shiny on the inside. The monochromatic look is quite striking although I’m still a sucker for the classic black and gold Chanel packaging.

Formulation:
Available in six shades, the Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme is formulated with ultra-micronized pigments mixed with green tea extract, almond oil, and vitamin E. With a true matte finish, the lipsticks are extremely pigmented and opaque without being powdery or drying. The colors glide smoothly over the lips and feel surprisingly lightweight and comfortable. The finish is not completely transfer-resistant but the pigments cling well to the lips. Overall, this is a really great range of matte lipsticks with a solid, long-lasting formulation. See below for a breakdown of my favorite shades.
110 Impressive: I’ve mentioned many times in the past that I’m not a fan of orange reds but Impressive is very really well-formulated. The color is definitely bold but it’s also surprisingly flattering.
112 Ideal: This is a classic deep red. It’s creamy, pigmented, and universally flattering.
114 Epitome: My top pick out of the collection, Epitome is a stunning berry red. The formulation is super pigmented and smooth.
118 Eternal: Appearing just bit dull and gray in the tube, Eternal is actually a gorgeous rosy nude. Despite being a lighter shade, the formulation is pigmented and non-patchy.
