Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet • Lipstick Review & Swatches

I understand some find the Allure Velvet line too expensive for its performance but this shade is an exception! It wears well for six hours, which starts fading after the fifth hour. It feels moisturising until the fourth hour then gradually becomes neither drying nor moisturising over time. It doesn’t settle into lip lines like other Allure Velvet lipstick shades and builds to fill coverage in three passes. It has some slip during the first half hour of wear but dries down to a comfortable matte afterwards. La Favorite is a nice, wearable bright coral pink. It doesn’t wash out my NC 25 skin tone as it has a hint of mauve that mutes the brightness. This is similar to Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip in Pink Guava, although slightly more muted. It has a satin finish that looks matte over time. For a lipstick, it doesn’t transfer as much as other formulas. I love how the bullet has to be pushed down to pull out of the cap. Prevents my lipstick from accidentally getting uncapped or twisting the bullet into the cap.
