Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adrienne
As you may or may not be aware Chanel Rouge Coco is one of the brand’s best selling lipstick formulations but for 2015 it has been reformulated with 29 new shades – one of which is Adrienne and as far as I am aware it is permanent. The idea a little like Tom Ford’s Boys Collection is that each shade has been named after an important person with Coco Chanel’s life. The packaging as ever is: sleek, black, glossy and features the ever famous double “C” logo. It is everything I expect from Chanel.
So yes 29 new shades all of which have been split into categories: Nudes, Oranges, Pinks, Rosewoods, Reds and Plums. Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adrienne is one of five nudes and unlike other nude collections I truly do believe there is shade within this category for everyone never mind collection. I would personally describe Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adrienne as a light, yellow based nude that does feature a slight hint of pink. I guess that MAC Hue Lipstick would be a semi-decent comparison or dupe. I will be entirely honest in saying that it is not the most original shade but very easy to wear. Yes I did mainly purchase this lipstick for the name, I won’t pretend otherwise.
I briefly touched on the fact the formulation has been reformulated above, as I tend to purchase the Coco Rouge Shine formulations I don’t have anything to compare it to. What I will say is that the new Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick’s are fairly sheer, they offer a wash of colour rather than thick, full pigmentation. They are rather easy to slick on, feel moisturising, light weight and non-sticky – you can apply in layers for a more intense colour pay off but in my opinion they are best wore sheer. The finish is light and somewhat glossy – think in the realm of a well formulated tinted lip balm and you won’t go far wrong. In terms of wear I so far have achieved around 3 hours per wear. I do really like the Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick formulation but don’t love it – to purchase another shade it would really have to be special or perhaps called Adrienne 2 haha!

Every now and then the stars align and the one thing you have always dreamed of, happens. Okay that may be a slight exaggeration but I would only be lying to myself if I said I have never hoped for a lipstick or any make-up product named Adrienne. Heck not so long ago I would have been happy with finding a Share a Coke with Adrienne. That’s the thing with certain names, you spend your whole life spelling it out, correcting pronunciation (Ah-Dree-N) for little or next to no reward. Well fellow Adrienne’s the tide has turned, say hello to Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adrienne. As you may or may not be aware Chanel Rouge Coco is one of the brand’s best selling lipstick formulations but for 2015 it has been reformulated with 29 new shades – one of which is Adrienne and as far as I am aware it is permanent.
