Chanel Skincare – ContentMode

January 2022 CHANEL BEAUTY, launched a nine-product, eco-responsible collection of skincare, makeup, and fragrance collection powered by Coco Chanel’s favorite flower: the red camellia

No1 DE CHANEL  is CHANEL’s effort to a cleaner and more sustainable approach to luxury product development.

10 years ago, CHANEL in-house researchers along with researchers from the Department of Biotechnology and Ageing at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna began investigating senescence, a process in which cells age, losing the ability to divide and grow, basically your skin starts to age.  And they studied the effects of “The Czar” variety of Camellia japonica plant, with the camellia flower being emblematic to the luxury fashion house.

The Red Camellia extract targets your skin cells when they are about to undergo senescence stage of age-related damage.  The Antioxidant, soothing, and regenerative effects found in the Protocatechuic acid, which is in the petals of the flower is the key ingredient to their highly effective anti-aging skincare line. The skincare products have up to 97 % formulas from natural origin.

The Red Camellias sourced for this skin care collection are grown and harvested at the Gaujacq open-sky laboratory located in Southwest France.

I’m so pleased to see one of my favorite luxury beauty brands is moving towards clean natural formulations, eco-friendly manufacturing, and sustainable packaging while maintaining its legendary CHANEL DNA.
