Chanel Taps Pharrell for SS20 Eyewear Campaign
Chanel has recently shared its Spring/Summer 2020 eyewear campaign, tapping none other than longtime collaborator Pharrell as one of the stars of the black-and-white images. Alongside the singer, the French label also recruited various other musicians and actors, spotlighting Belgian singer Angèle, French actresses Isabelle Adjani, American actress Margaret Qualley, and French singer Sébastien Tellier.
The campaign shows off five different eyewear styles that have all been created with the “elegance of Chanel.” Pharrell is seen sporting a pair of oversized black acetate sunglasses, which are adorned with fine metal plaques and a double-c motif that is meant to mimic tweed, one of the brand’s signature fabrics. Tellier also models thick frames that feature an “XL” rectangular shape and continue the tweed theme through a special frame design.
Qualley is clad in one of the most built-up versions of them all, with her butterfly frames and pearl chain offering an ethereal aesthetic similar to that of Angèle’s oval-shaped edition. Meanwhile, Adjani peers behind a sleek pair of black sunglasses with simple Chanel branding, bringing in a minimal option to the range.
