If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Pharrell’s partnership with adidas Originals: expect the unexpected. The global style icon who seemingly has his hand in several pots has had quite a successful run with the adidas brand, with their most notable collaborative project being the Human Race initiative that has birthed some colorful iterations of the adidas NMD Hu. Later this November, a rugged adidas NMD Hu Trail is set to release, but this potential collaboration with super high-end luxury brand Chanel is a pair you probably won’t want to wear on the hiking path.

It’s being rumored that Chanel is indeed collaborating with Pharrell on a pair of the adidas NMD Hu Trail in a stoic black/white colorway featuring the brand and icon’s name emblazoned on the upper. A leaked sample suggests that inter-locking C logos could be used as well.

Pharrell has an ongoing partnership with Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel; he’s apppeared in past campaigns for the luxury imprint and even contributed to a brand music video/short film that directed by Lagerfeld himself.
