Coco Mademoiselle Intense Chanel perfume – a fragrance for women 2018

The story between me and Coco Mademoiselle isn’t a big or complicated one. Everything started when my favorite perfume-signature Miss Dior EDT discontinued, reformulated. It was around 2016. The similarity between CM EDP and MD EDT was like 95%. The one a bit colder and more citrusy with a refreshing rosie/patchouli/mysky end and the other warmer because of the blood orange and kind of addictively sweet without having not even a gourmandise/vanillic drop.

I started like this because look how many people voted that CM EDP reminds them MD EDP and the CM EDT the MD EDT. I personally wore CM EDT and they are completely different. So, I can sign you this that mentioned above. I thought that I would find my love in the original CM no matter that each skin radiates a perfume uniquely. The very first time I smelled CM EDP was from a friend of my childhood that hadn’t any connection or passion with perfumes but I remember how excited she was and how sexy she was (for her). Strange for someone in his early 19’s to like chypre instead of sugarbombs.

First time I tried CM Intense I was amazed from it’s sillage. I remember storing my coat in the wardrobe and each time I was passing from my entrance, I could sense it and loved it the same time. When you test at the same time CM & CM Intense you can’t really find a difference, that’s why all are so confused and can’t choose…BUT…you just have to let them dry on your skin. So, I bought the intense one hoping that it would be closer to my signature and kind of similar to Allure Sensuelle (another love to hate perfume). What I have to advice you is: Always when you wear such a statement, compare it next to your favorite perfumes. Think that you wear CM Intense and you cross someone who wears…Good Girl for example. See what he/she receives from you. No one smells what you actually smell and this is how I test the quality of a perfume. I smelled next to CM Intense the Allure Sensuelle EDP ( a scratchy, oldish, trying to be oriental with vanilla, vintage perfume) and I fell in love! I got the vanilla that you can only smell on the base when more than 8 hours have passed from when sprayed.

Sorry for such an analysis but without too much bla-bla, not feeling sorry for didn’t choose the original over the intense edition, the big difference is that the intense is more round. It’s more bold, patchouli is present from the beginning till the very end while the original has a more citrus push. It’s slightly annoying that sometimes it reminds me of Coco’s Noir ‘apple cider vinegar’ note but this is it’s uniqueness too. I can’t detect the musk nor the rosie/jasmine heart of the original, at least not that clearly. Maybe that’s why the original is beloved from any age or gender. CM Intense isn’t a perfume you wear for errands as you Americans love saying. This is like I am here, I am dressy, you like me or don’t c’est moi! (it’s me!). If you have one, you don’t need the other except if you’re a collector, a chypre enthousiast or you prefer an intense twist of your favorite perfume. For Chanel intense isn’t equal to stronger but for sure way better in longevity. I sprayed my watch in the airport, 3 weeks ago, with the perfume (pure parfum) edition and when I just wear it and walk on the streets, I can still detect CM around me. I will end with, Chanel you love your clients. Maybe your sprays are very generous, your prices never fall even in sales but you never disappoint or reformulate (DIOR) your best sellers. THIS IS TO BE RESPECTED. A new edition of CM never canceled the original so congratulations. Hope that I helped a bit, some will feel my ‘pain’ or the connection with MD (when it was a star) but in 3 sentences:

– If you have no experience with CM don’t blind buy it or try to amplify your signature. It’s all about the power of patchouli but at the same time is so delicate.
– It’s not the typical aristocratic chypre (less flowers in the heart compared to the original) and labdanum screams vintage. Be at least in your late 20’s to enjoy it.
– Not as recognizable or unique as the original but this edition will bring many compliments and the warm touch the original misses during autumn/winter period.
