Discussion of The Ezra Klein Show

I love Ezra Klein’s podcast and I love that he asks for book recommendations at the end of every episode. I’ve noticed most of the guests cite books relevant to the subject matter of the episode – which makes sense – and occasionally they’ll recommend a book they really love.

Has anyone ever recommended a totally mainstream, trashy sort of book, like a Jackie Collins novel or something? I know these people are all intellectuals and their shit probably has a higher IQ than me, but I think it would be so refreshing if someone recommended a totally populist, tacky bestseller like a John Grisham novel or something. Has anyone ever done that?
