Every Single Vintage Chanel Look From Last Night’s Met Gala

This may be a controversial statement, but we adored the red carpet from last night’s Met Gala. On May 1, so many beloved stars arrived in gorgeous looks for the 2023 Met Gala that honored the late designer Kal Lagerfeld. For the theme of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” the dress code was all about honoring Lagerfeld in some way. (For those that don’t know, Lagerfeld helped create legendary fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi, and Chloé!) While there were plenty of stunning Fendi and Chloé looks, the biggest theme of the red carpet was vintage Chanel.

Now, we adore vintage looks: it’s a sustainable way to look as chic as can be, it’s a fun way to bring back older trends we don’t see much of anymore, and it’s such a fun way to play around with your typical wardrobe.

From Margaret Qualley’s 1990s LBDs to the 1980s ballgown that Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz wowed in, so many celebrities understood the assignment when they chose to arrive in vintage looks.

Check out every showstopping vintage Chanel look from last night’s Met Gala red carpet (and which year we first saw the stunning looks in action!)
