What is Flexographic Printing?
Flexography involves using flexible printing plates mounted on fast-rotating cylinders. During the process, we wind a flexible, photopolymer plate around a rotating cylinder for each color. The graphics and text for each color are then raised from the surface of the plate. Only the raised portions of the plate get inked.
We use presses during the flexographic printing process to print on a variety of thicknesses of corrugated board and achieve speeds of up to 12,000 sheets per hour! For this reason, flexography has become the standard for many packaging companies seeking to print imaging quickly and on a multitude of substrates. Compared to other printing methods, flexo printing on boxes offers higher quality, more diversity and lower costs.
