Often when we are searching for clothing fabrics we fail to understand how to identify a good quality fabric. Fabrics usually are compared to each other using GSM density.
What is GSM?
GSM is short for grams per square meter. All fabrics have a weight, and the standard measurement for the weight and quality of fabrics i.e. grams per square meter. This number refers to the density of the fabric.
Low GSM density fabrics are very thin and light and are often see through. The higher the GSM density the heavier the cloth becomes. When it comes to T-shirts, Opium Valley chooses the best fabrics in T-shirt category. Even though a higher GSM fabric offers higher durability, but when it comes to T-shirts these heavy fabrics are not wearable and preferable during summer weather.
T-shirts chosen by us have a GSM strength of 180. This makes the T-shirts sufficiently dense to ensure they are long lasting, durable and offer high comfort during summers as a top wear and during winters as an inner wear.
A lot of times we get attracted towards low prices of T-shirts from other websites. It is highly important to check the GSM strength of these fabrics as brands prefer to economize on it and offer cheap cloth which are easily destructible. Our tests indicate that 180GSM fabrics are the best suited for T-shirts.
We offer same cloth material for both Printed and Ultimate basic T-shirts, hence not negotiating on the quality of the T-shirt even though the price of Ultimate Basics is low. T-shirts offered by us are 100% Premium Cotton which are Super Combed with Double stitching. You can keep the worry of T-shirt shrinking, lint accumulations and Colour fading aside with our Bio-Washed T-shirts.

Polos on the other hand come in a variety of GSMs. A standard Polo comes in 200GSM cloth, whereas a Premium Polo which we sell is of 240 GSM offering a thicker fabric. A 240 GSM thick Premium Polo also offers sturdy collars which blend well to the idea of Collar down for Formals and Collar up for Parties.
Opium Valley’s Premium Polos are 100% Premium cotton of 240 GSM thickness. These are like T-shirts super combed and Bio-Washed too.
Zipper and Non- Zipper Hoodies selected by us are of 320GSM which helps them to become the Ultimate winterwears. The fabric of the hoodies is 100% cotton with Brushed Fleece Fabric which gives 100% thermal insulation.
