Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber Relaxed on the Rooftops of Paris During the Chanel Show
A Chanel show is always a spectacle, and this season designer Virginie Viard turned the Grand Palais into one giant Parisian rooftop, paying homage to the City of Light and its many beautiful vistas. The show itself blended classic Chanel — tweed jackets, skirt suits, knee-length dresses, and monochrome eveningwear — with unexpected modern touches, like a proliferation of tiny shorts (Gigi Hadid sported a particularly skimpy pair), denim, and flashes of bright colours like candy pink and tomato red.
If it’s the accessories you came for, you won’t be disappointed. When it came to shoes, you had your choice between ankle-strap two-part shoes (some of them in two-toned black and white) or strappy t-bar sandals, while crossbody quilted bags with multiple strap options came in every color of the rainbow. There were also lots of pearls and beads, layered up on long necklaces interspersed with the famous interlocking Cs. Your final accessory? A bold red bloom that would make Carrie Bradshaw proud. Pin it to your lapel or fasten it to your hat, à la Kaia Gerber, and, unlike the gatecrasher who stormed the stage at the close of the show, people might even believe you’re a true Chanel girl.
