Heung Min Son is Burberry’s New Ambassador

Son Signs Deal with Burberry

With every week that passes, football and fashion become more intertwined. Son signing with iconic London brand Burberry is the latest sign of that. Having previously worked with Marcus Rashford, Son is the second footballer to represent the English fashion house, and is part of a growing trend, following

Son for Ralph Lauren’s Wimbledon collection in 2021.

Son previously took part in a Ralph Lauren campaign, but that was a one-time affair, whereas his role with Burberry will be that of global ambassador and will involve a lot more photoshoots and ad campaigns. He had this to say on the matter:

“Being an athlete from the Premier League, it’s my honour to partner with a brand so rich in British heritage,” Son explained. “I love Burberry’s strive for imagination and innovation which has been deeply inherited in its history, which are values that I champion.”
Son’s success and likeability were no doubt motivating factors for Burberry, as well as his popularity in South East Asia, where they will be hoping to increase sales off the back of his involvement. The timing of the announcement also works well for Son, whose first collection from his NOS7 brand comes out on Friday.

A spokesman from Burberry said:

“The story of Son Heung-min, who worked tirelessly with passion to achieve his dream from a young age, fits the House’s beliefs, ‘discovery of new possibilities’ and ‘the power of imagination that transcends limits’.”
