Step 1: Open Instagram on your Desktop
Easy enough! Log in and access your Instagram account via your desktop. This way you can search and pull up any page + image you desire.
Step 2: Locate the image you’d like to download.
Find the image you’d like to download. This is where the fun begins. Click on that image to enlarge.
Step 3: Click on “Develop” at the top of your Safari web bar and then scroll down to “Show Web Inspector”
If it isn’t there, don’t panic! You can add it to your web bar by clicking on:
Safari -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar
Step 4: Select the crosshair icon from the web developer. You’ll see it in blue in the image below (to the right of the web developer)
Step 5: Once the icon is blue, click on the image you’d like to save. You’ll notice the coding on the bottom of the screen will change slightly, this is ok.
Step 6: Click on the first arrow above the highlighted blue line, and right click the image’s URL -> open in new tab
Step 7: From there it’s as easy as right clicking the image one more time and sending it straight to your downloads.
And there you have it, a crisp and clear download of a photo from Instagram. No screen shooting and cropping required! The full process from start to finish can be seen in the video below. We broke it down step by step so you can really grasp the process. Thanks for reading!
