Introducing Bassinger Koi Farm
Our History
Bassinger Fisheries is a family owned and operated business.
I am the third generation on the farm. It began 50 years ago in 1957 with Hubert and his father “Gus” digging their first ponds to raise baitfish. Additional ponds followed in the 1960’s. In 1972 Hubert decided to leave the bait industry behind and venture into the ornamental market starting with Goldfish. Soon to follow he acquired top quality Koi from Japan to expand the business. After developing the business with other varieties, more ponds and many years, I “Ray” returned to my child hood on the farm to continue the family tradition. Currently Bassinger Fisheries consist of:
• 1 location and working a third for Oranda’s, Blackmoors and other exotic goldfish
• 100 plus mud ponds
• 25 green house mud ponds
• 100,000 gallons of covered concrete vats with state of the art filtration for holding facilities (50 units)
• 80,000 gallons of covered concrete raceways with filtration
