REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

A quality assurance manager for the foodservice industry oversees all aspects of food safety and quality in a foodservice establishment. They develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure that the food served is safe, of the correct quality, and meets all regulatory requirements.

Quality assurance manager typically has a degree in food science or a related field, as well as several years of experience in quality control or food safety. They must be able to effectively communicate with all members of a kitchen staff, as well as customers. The quality assurance manager is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant provides a safe and enjoyable dining experience for customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and maintaining a quality assurance program for a restaurant or food service operation. 
  • Evaluating the quality of food served by the restaurant or food service operation. 

  • Evaluating the cleanliness of equipment, utensils and work areas of a restaurant or food service operation. 

  • Deals with quality improvement by completing product, company, system, and organizational audits.

  • Helping with the recruiting process.

  • Establish and enact the Inspection Plan.

  • Determining and ensuring that customer requirements are met

  • Keep a performance record of quality reports, statistical reviews and other activities.

  • Keeping an eye on the goal of increasing the company’s profitability 

  • Assisting with the development of policies and procedures to ensure that the food served is safe, of the correct quality, and meets all regulatory requirements. 

  • Coordinates training and therapy to provide employees with quality standards and assistance when they’re not meeting goals. 

  • Conducts hazard analyses and monitors quality measures to set the standard for quality assurance. 

PREREQUISITES:

Qualification and Skills

  • A bachelor’s or associate degree

  • Strong technical and computer skills

  • Excellent data review and analysis abilities

  • Problem-solving skills

Experience

Experience in related field required with supervisory experience a plus.
