Biography

Julia was born in 1887. She was the daughter of Albert Chanel and Jeanne Devolle and the sister of Coco Chanel. She worked with her sister to create hats and clothes in Pre-World War I Paris. She married Canadian airman Oscar Fleming on November 11, 1919 in Paris, France.[1] She and her husband moved back to his hometown in Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada after their wedding. She moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1921. She either passed away of Spanish flu in 1921 in Buenos Aires, Argentina or she passed away of suicide in 1922 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
