Latest UFC rankings update: Alexander Volkov, Jan Blachowicz punch their way into division Top 5 – MMAmania.com
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was back on UFC Fight Pass last Saturday (March 17, 2018) for the UFC Fight Night 127 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which featured a heavyweight main event between Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Volkov, ending in a technical knockout win for “Drago.”
And a spot in the top five of his division.
In the UFC Fight Night 127 co-main event, held inside O2 Arena in London, England, top light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa came up short — and fell out of the top five — after getting out-slugged by Polish power puncher Jan Blachowicz in a 205-pound rematch of their April 2015 affair.
Here’s how the rankings work, courtesy of UFC.com:
Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
Take a look at what the latest rankings field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).

There you have it.
You can expect these standings to change — particularly in the lightweight division — in roughly two weeks, as the promotion is set to uncork the UFC 223: “Ferguson vs. Khabib” pay-per-view (PPV) fight card on Sat., April 7, 2018 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (more on that fight card here).
