London for Men Burberry cologne – a fragrance for men 2006

Probably my favorite fall scent, the only Burberry that matters, and a proof that you can do much with little, meaning that a brand with not a large amount of money to spend on fragrances could do a great job, if the perfumer envolved is good.

Antoine Maisondieu is a great nose, with a resumé that includes Armani Code EAU DE TOILETTE , Rush for Men EAU DE TOILETTE , Beau de Jour EAU DE PARFUM , Bottega Veneta pour Homme EAU DE TOILETTE or even Fat Electrician , one of my favorite Vetiver scents. At that time, he had already created Code and Rush for Men. Two different woody scents, one spicy, the other lactonic.

This one is a woody spicy scent that focuses on Cinnamon and tobacco leafs, with a hint of a greeness and a Port Wine accord. The green element is on the opening and is the link to Bottega Veneta pour homme. Both share that element but Bottega Veneta is much more leathery and green, in oposite of London, which is more spicy sweet.

The cinnamon is present since the beginning and along with dry tobacco leafs, creates a very masculine and somehow sexy aura that i absolutely love. The green pine needles accord helps it to became more original and makes me remind of Fall, when the temperatures cool down, and the leafs fall to the ground. Thats why i only wear it in Fall. I think it fits perfectly, but only when its sunny and cold outside. Not for rainy or cloudy days.

Sometimes i get that Port Wine but mostly, what i get is cinnamon and tobacco, with pine needles in the opening. The more it dries down, the more it became woodier and sweeter but nothing bubblegumy here.

The longevity is decent, sometimes i get 8+ hours, but usually i get 5-6h with medium projection. You can overspray it to get more performance, its not offensive or intrusive at all.

The bottle looks very nice and the sprayer is good. Price is excellent and the quality is great.

I recommend it as the only Burberry that is worth to have in your collection and one great example of price-quality ratio. A fantastic Fall scent and very original.
