MARGIE 1920 Popular Song Albert Barbelle Design Vintage Sheet – Etsy Denmark
MARGIE, 1920 song by Con Conrad, Benny Davis and J. Russel Robinson. “Operatic Edition” published by Waterson, Berlin and Snyder Music, Strand Theatre Building, NYC. 9.4 x 12.1 inches.
The cover has detached and all three pages are separate. The sheet music is from my late father’s library and he was a singer/teacher of musicianship; he often stamped his music so it wouldn’t walk away, and there is his name stamp above the I-E in MARGIE.
Stunning example of Arts & Crafts/Wiener Werkstatte 1910s-1920s graphics by Albert Barbelle (1888-1957). He was an American artist known well for his work in advertising, particularly cover art for sheet music of Tin Pan Alley. He also illustrated the first Mickey Mouse book. Collectible!
If your name is Margie or you need a gift for her, this might be perfect, and would look incredible framed.
