Mini-review: Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum | BTY ALY
Bonnie is passionate about all things beauty. When she’s not posting content on her Instagram , she’s sharing her knowledge and expert advice here on BTY ALY.
The Centella Green Level Buffet Serum from the Korean “clean” skincare brand Purito may not have the prettiest packaging, but it’s definitely one of my favorite products at the moment!
I know I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but in the era of pretty Instagram-friendly packagings, I admit I have become super picky in this area!
I heard great things about the brand Purito for quite a long time, but I had to force myself a little bit to buy one of their products just because I wasn’t fond of the bottle.
Yes, it’s silly and I’m not proud of it… Especially since the product inside the said bottle is absolutely amazing!
At first, I bought it for my husband but after trying it, I quickly repurchased a second bottle so that he could have his own serum (I’m not the best at sharing, he would totally agree with that ^^).
The Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum really took me by surprise and I’m very happy because it’s definitely a K-Beauty hidden gem!
Mini-review:
In September, my skin wasn’t really in the best state. I was breaking out quite badly and I was also very dehydrated after spending the summer locked in air-conditioned places, it wasn’t great.
I decided to try one of these famous Cica products and I was also curious to know more about the brand Purito, so I killed two birds with one stone and ordered their bestseller, the Centella Green Level Buffet Serum.
Purito is a Korean clean skincare brand that has many principles for its products.
Named after the English word “purity” and the Chinese character for “soil” (土), Purito is a totally transparent skincare brand. They want their customers to know what they apply on their skin. They prefer natural ingredients, and they make sure that they are as pure and pesticide-free as possible.
Aware of the greenwashing in the beauty industry at the moment, Purito wants to be open and honest with its customers, providing products that are truly natural and safe, even on a child’s skin.
Purito doesn’t believe that fancy packagings, aggressive marketing claims or using famous people as ambassadors are indicative of a good skincare product. The latter practice is indeed widely used in South Korea where most music or television personalities have very lucrative contracts with local cosmetics brands.
They prefer to invest in the R&D and finding great ingredients for their products, than focusing on their appearance. They also try to use environmentally friendly packaging whenever it’s possible, they never test on animals, and they also believe that skincare should be accessible to as many people as possible. The prices of their products are indeed very affordable!
I definitely appreciate this approach a lot and I like that Purito products also contain ingredients known to be beneficial for the skin (niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, galactomyces, exfoliating acids…). Their formulas are intended to be effective on your skin, they’re not only here to ease your conscience 😉 (can you feel I’m slightly annoyed with the flooding of these “clean” and “non-toxic” brands that are all starting to all look and sound the same? ).
So, as you can tell, I already had a very good opinion of the brand and I tested the Centella Green Level Buffet Serum as soon as I received it. And my big crush on Purito was definitely confirmed!
The formula of this product is definitely super tempting: so many great ingredients with super interesting effects on the skin: moisturizing, soothing, purifying, anti-aging, brightening… It’s a real multi-function serum!
This is actually the principle here. In cosmetics, you call this type of products “Buffet” because it’s like an all-you-can-eat buffet, there’s a lot of different things in it!
And the advantage of this Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum is that the ingredients are in a great concentration to be able to have a positive impact on the skin. Because if you have a lot of different skincare ingredients in your product but at very low doses, it’s not really interesting.
I’ve been using it for almost 3 months now (I’m almost done) and I’ve definitely seen a difference on my skin. It’s much less prone to break out. I have 1 or 2 pimples that hang around from time to time but they are much smaller than the ones I had at the beginning of September, and they don’t last very long!
I also find that my skin is less “inflamed” than before. I never had a lot of redness, I didn’t really have sensitive skin to start with but I can still see that my skin is more even than before. My break out areas always used to be a little more “pink” than the rest of my face and that’s no longer the case.
Now, to be perfectly honest, I’m also testing a device that could also help for that matter, so I guess it’s a result of both 😉
In conclusion:
This product and this brand are a very nice discovery! I intend to continue to explore the rest of the range (they just released a brand new sunscreen, I ordered it right away, I’ll tell you more about it soon 😉 ).
The Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum retails between $13 and $19 for 60 ml depending on the different retailers (I added a link at the top and bottom of the page).
