Illuminating Lenses
CIBA Vision claims its new Freshlook Radiance cosmetic contact lenses can illuminate both light and dark eyes without changing their natural color. The lens design  features an inner starburst pattern with a charcoal outer ring for definition. The main iris area is clear so that the patients natural

color shows through.
Also, Freshlook lenses are now made using CIBAs new thermal cure manufacturing process and ultraviolet absorber. The new process enables the lens edge to fit better, which reduces lens movement and provides optimal centering, the company says. CIBA says the lenses also provide some UV protection.
Four different color options are available: Moonlight to give eyes a silver tint, Eden to enhance green, Autumn to create a bronzed effect, and Sunrise to add a gold tint. Resolving AR
Resolution lenses from Optima now have a new AR coating, Cerium58, that the company says resolves coating and durability issues that have long been a

concern with AR coatings.
Optimas Optical monitor measures optical thickness throughout the coating process. Three separate chambers are used to process the lens: a deposition chamber thats vacuum sealed for a stable coating environment, and two separate chambers that are used to apply anti-reflective and then hydrophobic coatings, avoiding cross contamination. Enhanced Vision Systems Merlin auto-focus desktop magnifier now has VGA (video graphics array) capability, which the company says allows users to integrate the Merlin with any computer monitor.
