A Sensual & Classic Woody Oriental

I’ve tried a great many fragrances, and this is one of my very favorites–I always get compliments on it! This is one of those fragrances you just can’t go wrong with; it’s quickly becoming a classic! It has a distinctly musky, woody base that is very sensual, but it’s also spicy with soft florals that make it seem exotic and oriental too. SO many fragrances these days wear off after a couple of hours no matter how much you put on–it’s very frustrating! But with this one, you don’t need to put on much at all and it lasts all day! It’s completely worth the expensive price. The scent also seems to rub off on clothes more than other fragrances do, which I personally like. It’s down-to-earth enough to wear everyday, but still sophisticated, classic and sexy enough that it’s appropriate for special occasions. There’s only one thing that can seem off-putting about it: when you very first spray it on, it can seem too powdery and overpowering. You just have to give it at least 15-20 minutes and after that the initial powdery smell fades to a sensual, woody base. I usually spray it on about half an hour before I go out, then by the time I’m ready to leave, it’s perfect!

Avoid this fragrance

I used to wear Obsession back in the 90’s and thought I would discover it again, give it a try to see if I still liked it. It smells different, definitely like one of those generic, knock off scents but with a high price tag. It’s very heavy and strong, almost musty. Definitely not a young girl’s fragrance. My mother would give this a hard pass. So disappointed. Did they change the formula? They must have. Even if it would have been cheaper, I still would have been disappointed. Speaking of price..Over 50 bucks for such a small bottle! Never again! Save you money or put it towards a better fragrance.

Something isn’t right

I have been in love with this smell since being a little girl, my grandma wore it all the time and i have purchased multiple bottles. My current bottle is running low and i saw they carry it at ulta so i purchased it for the first time here. When i opened the box i was a little thrown off by the color, it was light like more yellow light amber than a medium dark amber. Then i sprayed myself and this does not smell the same, very similar but more of the woody note is present the amber and spicy note arent very prominent, i have purchased this bottle size from other stores and never had this problem. The smell isnt bad tho just isnt right, Maybe i just got a bad bottle or something but this bottle was not the obsession i have used for many years.

Love the fragrance but the price for 1 oz is ridiculous

I used to wear it a long time ago. Never recieved compliments but I liked it. Heavy fragrance, mature, sexy, warm, exotic, with a touch of vanilla

This is the only scent I can wear that doesn’t bother my allergies or sinuses. Not only that, it smells wonderful!

I like this scent but I would not use it. When I was growing up my mother would wear it whenever she would get ready to go out for some fancy occasion. Definitly not for a younger woman… I am 35 and the memories I have of my mom will prevent me from wearing it but I will keep it around so I can remember her fondly. 🙂 It really does smell nice.
