Pioneer RT-909 Reel To Reel – Fully Serviced, Calibrated And | Reverb

For sale is an fully serviced, calibrated and upgraded Pioneer RT-909 reel to reel deck. This deck was completely gone through from top to bottom and performs flawlessly. A full list of all servicing is listed below. We don’t need to go on and on about the performance of these decks – there are nothing but glowing reviews about these online! A true classic!

Note: this is the international version which can do 50/60Hz and 100V-240V line operation!

Cosmetically the deck is in fantastic condition – please study the pics carefully. The deck has been detailed from top to bottom and is very clean inside and out.

The list of services include:
*Disassembled motor assembly and cleaned thoroughly, polished all rubber contact surfsces and replaced belt with high quality modern replacement
*New pinch roller rubber rollers – cleaned old rubber goo off of all rubber contact surfaces and oiled all oil washers with Studer oil
*Cleaned and oiled all oil-lite bearings and relubricated with Studer capstan oil
*cleaned and polished all tape path contact surfaces, demagnetized all metal contact points
*Cleaned all controls thoroughly with faderlube and deoxit for scratch free operation with no dropouts
*Disassembled both tension rollers, swapped sides (for fresh tension roller surfaces for both tensioners), cleaned off old grease/damping fluid that had leaked out and rebuilt with fresh grease and damping fluid where it should go
*Check/adjust head alignment
*Check/adjust tape tension
*Check/adjust braking
*Calibrated all playback, record and monitor circuits according to the service manual specifications and setup the deck to record with modern LPR35 tape – all circuits and functions perform well within specification

The deck will be packaged and shipped carefully with full insurance. The deck includes the original Pioneer hub adapters but no reels or tape.
