PLASTERING WORK CHECKLIST

 

 

 

What is plastering work?

Plastering is the process
of covering the rough and uneven surfaces of walls, columns, beams, ceilings
and other building elements with one or two coats to make the surface smooth
and durable. Generally, plaster is a mixture of lime or cement and sand with the required amount of water

PRE-PLASTERING
PREPARATION CHECKLIST

1. Setting out as per base
reference line/drawing

2. Sufficient level pegs
provided and wall alignment is acceptable

3. All first fixed joinery
items are fixed accordingly

4. All concealed M&E
services are complete and ready. M&E Engineer confirmed to proceed

5. Protection provided to
installed components/ finishes

6. Wire mesh provided
between RC structure and brickwork

7. Mortar spread on the
walls yet to be plastered is cleaned

8. Architectural items such
as corner beads, U-grooves, copings and sides of jamb are completed prior to
plastering work

9. All finished works are
well protected prior to plastering work

10. Checked wall’s moisture
content is acceptable and ensured wetting of substrate before plastering, use
Moisture Meter

CEMENT
MORTAR MIXING & DURING PLASTERING CHECKLIST

 

1. Setting out as per base

FINAL
PLASTERING FINISHES CHECKLIST

1. Visually acceptable smooth surface with no scratches

2. Checked the evenness, line, plumb etc., using a straight edge with respect to button marks

3. All button marks are carefully removed and properly
finished after all checking

4. Checked there is no surface damage or cracks and
surface is free from major defects
