Pride Month: 13 brands that are supporting the LGBTQ+ community | Vogue France
Like every year, the month of June comes under the colors of the rainbow, as it is synonymous with love, pride, and tolerance. As Pride Month pays homage to the struggles of the LGBTQ+ community, brands are showing their support with exclusive collections and capsules.
Balenciaga
With rainbow flags and sweats printed with the word “gay,” the Fall/Winter 2021-2022 collection by Balenciaga showed the brand’s engagement and support of the LGBTQ+ community. For Pride Month, Demna Gvasalia, creative director of Balenciaga, is launching a new capsule dedicated to the community. It is made up of t-shirts, baseball caps, underwear, socks and bracelets. Furthermore, 15% of the sales from the Balenciaga Pride 2021 collection will be donated to The Trevor Project, an organisation that works at preventing suicides in young gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people in the world.
The capsule is available in select stores and at balenciaga.com.
Versace
Versace is working with an old friend of the Italian house, Lady Gaga, and her foundation Born This Way, which promotes equality, inclusion and diversity. For the occasion, Versace and the artist have launched a collection made up of a unisex t-shirt and beret, on which the brand’s logo is stamped in rainbow colors. A part of the sales will be donated to the Born This Way foundation. Furthermore, the luxury house will also put up for auction a replica of the Versace leather jacket worn by Lady Gaga ten years ago, with the sales donated entirely to the artist’s foundation.
The capsule is available on versace.com.
