Quality Assessment and Improvement Resources

The National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare were launched by the Minister for Health in June 2012.

They set out the key principles of quality and safety that should be applied in any healthcare setting. The Quality and Patient Safety Division in collaboration with colleagues from acute hospitals and regional quality offices developed the Quality Assessment and Improvement Resources to support hospitals in assessing their services against these National Standards. The QA+I Resources include a web enabled QA+I tool, eight workbooks which complement the web enabled tool and a Practical Guide to undertaking quality assessments.
