Quality Stamps is located in Hollywood, FL. We are active buyers who can purchase collections both large and small. This means we will be able to buy (and sell) stamp and coin collections in Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Hialeah, Aventura, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Plantation, Pompano Beach, Boca Baton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach as well as the rest of Florida!

We will have many friends and clients on the West Coast of Florida and make regular trips to the Venice area via Naples, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Port Charlotte and further up into Sarasota, Bradenton, Tampa and St. Petersburg and all points in between.

We Buy Stamp & coin Collections!

For over 40 years, I have had the pleasure & privilege of handling virtually every aspect of the stamp & postal history hobby… plus I have been able to assist many people in the sale of their coin collections. This has been a full time living, not a hobby. During this time, the hobby of collecting stamps (& most other hobbies) are going through substantial changes: over the past few decades children haven’t been collecting much of anything, being more interested in technology. All of that said, there is still an active market in the stamp world!

Ample Funds

If you are in need of a fast sale of a substantial collection, we can help! With over $300,000 in readily available funds, we can handle virtually any collection.

Buying in Florida

I do travel around Florida a fair amount, mainly in the SE & SW areas of the state. That said, I will travel within the state for Buying, Appraisals and Brokerage as long as the collection seems to warrant the effort. This is still very much a living for us and we want to make sure we use our time wisely.

Services

We are able to assist you in the following ways:

Direct Purchase: We have ample funds to purchase all of the stamp collections that have been offered to us. We are interested in more valuable collections and are tending to refer smaller collections to other dealers.

Third Party Appraisal: For a fee of $75 per hour (minimum of $150) we will appraise your collection for either Replacement Value or Fair Market Value & issue a letter stating our findings. This is good for estate planning, probate, insurance etc. Email for more information.

Auction Brokerage: Over the years we have had experience with most of the auction houses in the US. We have developed good working relationships with a few honest & effective auction houses. We can advise you on the best auction to use to maximize the return on your particular collection, walk you through the contract process, pack the collection & arrange shipping. A key element in this is that you remain our client throughout the auction process at no extra cost to you, meaning that you have an advocate for your material. The auctions that we deal with appreciate the business that we bring them & treat our clients very well!

Referrals: We may refer you to a dealer that is known to us if we aren’t able to help you in a timely manner.

How can we help you if you want to sell?

  • Naturally I want to “qualify” whether I am interested in a collection or not. After discussing a collection that the owner wants to dispose of, I am happy to meet with them at their home or office.

  • If you want me to look at some pictures I will do so with the understanding that all I can do is say if there is a potential for value and if it looks like something we want to buy. I can’t give you a value or offer without seeing the stamps or covers.

Mailing to us:

  • We need to be contacted and agree to accept a mailing to evaluate your stamp collection through the mail. We do not accept unsolicited mailings and will refuse them at our PO Box.

  • If we agree to look at the collection through the mail you will need to send $20.00 in payment for our time PLUS the cost of return postage payable to Quality Stamps. We will not look at your stamps if both payments are not enclosed.

  • Please be sure to include your contact information in the mailing, including email, address and telephone number(s).

  • Once we receive the collection we will let you know if it has value or not.

  • If the collection has value then we will make you an offer. If you accept the offer then we will return the return postage fee to you along with our check in payment for the collection. If you reject the offer then we will return the collection to you and keep the $20.00 fee and use the return postage $ to get the stamps back to you.

  • If you require a written appraisal for any reason, we charge $75.00 per hour to review the collection, produce the letter etc.. The minimum charge is $150.00. This is not refundable should you want us to buy the collection.

  • We do not buy outside of the US. It isn’t that we don’t like you, but we’re offered so much here in the US that it is more than enough for us! The difficulties with paperwork, risks of shipping & the costs of cross border buying just make it too time-consuming. So, if you’re from France, Germany, India, South Africa, Russia, China, Colombia, Mexico etc., please don’t email us, we will not respond.

  • If you do not respond to our correspondence or messages we will understand that you have no further interest in the collection and will treat it as abandoned. We have limited storage space and can’t spend a lot of time contacting you multiple times.

Common questions:

  • How would I know if my collection is valuable or not? Strong collections have been built by collectors who spent substantial money on the collection at the time… buying individual stamps, sets or covers for the equivalent of $50 or more per item in today’s money.
