What are using to power the Peltier?
What are using to power the Peltier?
I’m using 12V 1.5A power supply. I see that there are 5V Peltiers on Amazon and Alibaba, I also tried connecting my Peltier to 5V phone charger and it works albeit it feels like it does not get as cool as with 12V. I have ordered 20Ah powerbank few days ago – I’ll try to run my Pi, Peltier and screen from it, I will report if it works and if so how long does the battery last.

What lens was that? Looks really good for a cheap lens.
In other news, my astro setup did finally get a proper glass instead of 47 year old photo lens on a wooden collar.
Click on image for full size:
It is M27 planetary nebula, 240x30s exposures, lens was William Optics SpaceCat 51 APO 250mm f/4.9. I think I missed focus slightly. I also removed default IR filter and instead used ZWO 2″ UV/IR Cut filter mounted inside adapter. Oh, and I broke glass on front of the sensor while detaching camera mount – only a corner and it does not seen to impact images, but be more careful than me if you want to do this.
I think after those latest upgrades my opinion of this camera went from “it is okay for the price” to “wow, it’s really good for astrophotography”.
