Reddit – Dive into anything

Hi everyone!

I received the Dong Sung Rannce C-Serum as a gift from a friend but wasn’t able to find any mention of it on this sub, so I decided to make a review for anyone interested. I’m very verbose, sorry ^^;;

Some background on me (Iz long, feel free to skip):

I’m very new to AB (this is my first product, and I got it unintentionally!), I’ve been lurking for a few months, but I’m not new to layering products for moisture. I’ve had severe eczema for 20+ years, since I was 4, and it’s full body. My face actually only had eczema for a couple of years, and besides that has only been dry. The rest of my body has been bad enough that there have been times where I would need to apply 3 layers of stuff full body 3+ times a day [if you have any morbid curiousity, googling severe eczema yield images that describe what my body was like for years]. My eczema has been really good the past few years because the external factors that triggered it the most are under control/lessened, I’ve found a routine that does a good job for hydration/maintaining my skin, and my skin is getting stronger from staying decent and having minimal flare ups.

My routine for both my face and body right now is: Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream followed by pure shea butter, once or twice a day. On the weakest/most damaged areas of skin I’ll add CeraVe before the shea. Sometimes I’ll use a prescribed medicated ointment rather than shea butter, and if I’m out of shea butter I’ll use vaseline. The third layer I used to use would always be a cream (always changed, but recently it’s been CeraVe after I learned more about the skin barrier. I’d tried it before but tried to replace Cetaphil with it and found it worthless as a moisturizer for my body, but it works wonderfully on top of Cetaphil), but that’s too heavy for me now.

While the layers are good enough, I feel like my body would prefer a water-y layer before hand, and western body lotions don’t fit the role my skin wants. I came to this routine after lots of trial and error with western products and finding that while no single product worked great; the ones mentioned were the best for my sensitivity, dryness, and healing, and more so when used together. My discovery of AB gives me hope I’ll find a product that fits my skin’s needs (I’m eyeing some of the Japanese lotions like Kikumasamune).

Review:

So this is the first AB product I’ve tried, and first product that I’ve used that had any claims besides basic moisture. So I have no experience with other AB products, or serums at all.

Both my mom and I used this product. While I only have dry and dehydrated skin (on my face anyway), my mother has dry, aged and damaged skin, with some really dark age spots on her cheeks. We’ve used it now for about 1.5 months, and used it as the first layer before using our regular routine. My mom uses whatever random moisturizer she’s using that month and shea butter on top.

I really love it. My skin feels more hydrated, and stays that way all day long. It feels like my skin’s thirst is quenched, if you will. I also noticed that my skin looks brighter and more glowy (dewy?).

My mother’s noticed the same things, and her dark spots are less pronounced than they used to be.

We both really like it and are considering purchasing it despite its price ($45) and our cheap ass-ness. My friend said she found it in the K-Beauty section at her local H-Mart. My mom especially wants to purchase it because she was working 60-70hrs for the majority of her life as a single mom, and skincare wasn’t even a consideration. Now she has the time and energy, but the damage has been done (yes, she uses sunscreen and stuff now, but she didn’t know about this stuff when it would’ve been a preventative step).

TL;DR Iz good. Yay hydration. Yay brightening and evening of skin tone.
