Report: WWE Scraps Plans To Reform The Hurt Business
A reunion of The Hurt Business had been teased on WWE TV in recent months, with MVP managing to win over Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, while having less success with Bobby Lashley as the two-time WWE Champion found it difficult to trust the man who turned on him during the Raw after WrestleMania 38.
Many thought WWE were taking the long game with The Hurt Business ahead of a potential reunion, especially after reports revealed Carmelo Hayes had been discussed as a potential new member within WWE creative.
In an update, though, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE have scrapped the plans to reform The Hurt Business. There is no word on why the angle was dropped.
“They have started it and totally dropped it. Yeah, I mean, we haven’t seen MVP around. We haven’t seen Cedric or Shelton around, nothing,” Meltzer said.
WWE has underwent creative upheaval over the past week since Vince McMahon re-established himself as the head of WWE creative, with Triple H now serving as Chief Content Officer under McMahon. If McMahon opted to scrap plans for a Hurt Business reunion now that he holds the final say over creative matters once again is unknown.
